My love child Langaller Eve'n So by the very special Prince Of Darkness out of my 1st ever Cuddy mare Eve's Wish moved from his foster home with Matt Cadman to Katie Jerram's yard on August 8th. Katie was under strict instruction to send him straight back if she didn't think he was good enough as I am always ultra critical of my own stock and I take her opinion in good heart. Within 10 days he was at his first show and thrown in at the deep end as it was a HOYS qualifier! Matt has done an incredible job producing the horse, he looks amazing and is going beautifully. To my utter delight he was pulled top above some well known 'names' and looked every bit the part. He went nicely for the judge and stayed on to win his class and obviously got his ticket. I was blown away to see my homebred 5 year old achieve such a result. It was only his second ever ridden show following his debut at my local Devon County in May where he won the local class. That alone was no mean feat as there were 20 odd in it and it is a very hotly contested class. He duly returned for the Championship, again was foot perfect and to be honest I did think he just might be reserve. To my utter delight he was pulled forward as Champion beating the very creme de la creme of the ridden show hunters and received amazing praise from both the ride and the conformation judges. He was in fact sold as a 2 year old in one of our home sales, entered for sale under some duress I might add! However the purchaser changed their mind and asked if he could be re offered at the end of the sale.As I hadn't wanted to sell him in the first place I was more than happy to keep him. It must have a been an omen! My ever business minded father's first comment after last weeks win was 'well he'll be worth more to sell now!' No way, Hose! This is a very special horse on so many different counts, he ain't going anywhere!
