Langaller Starring Role – 2008

Langaller Starring Role is the 2012 and 2013 Champion Stallion of the Sport Horse Breeding GB’s grading. No mean feat in itself; Langaller Starring Role attained an overall mark of 8.61 scoring 9’s for his movement, his loose jumping, his elasticity and his overall general impression.

Langaller Starring Role’s pedigree combines some of the leading names in Eventing breeding over the last decade. He is by the SHB ELITE stallion Catherston Dazzler who was one of the top ranked Eventing sires with offspring consistently competing and winning at 4* level both at home and Internationally including Midnight Dazzler who was 10th Badminton in 2009. In the2012 season his son Catherston Definitive won the BEF Eventing Championship.

Langaller Starring Role’s dam is the beautiful mare Loughbeg Marie who is out of a Santa’s Sleigh mare and by the influential stallion I’m A Star. She is full sister to the top middleweight show hunter Sheer Delight. She herself was only lightly shown but claimed her class and reserve Champion broodmare titles at The Royal Show. I’m A Star is the sire of many top Eventers including Mary King’s Burghley winner Star Appeal, Moon Man, and Commanche and the Irish-bred American based stallion Brandenburgs Windstar who sired the 4* horse Arthur , 6th at Burghley in 2013.

 Loughbeg Marie is also the dam of successful Advanced Eventer Langaller Star Turn by Prince Of Darkness, Dressage winner Langaller Future Star and another SHB graded stallion in Langaller Star Maker. Loughbeg Marie is half sister to the outstanding show broodmare Euphoria who is virtually unbeaten in the show ring winning at HOYS in 2005 and placed in 2007 and to Irish Breeze who is already the dam of the Intermediate, 2 ** Eventer Wind Surfer and Trenavey Storm Force who is Intermediate.

 Known at home as Roly, Langaller Starring Role combines hunting with busy stud duties. Even before his success at the grading he attracted a large number of mares including some top competition horses. There has been plenty of his offspring shown around the country and many County winners in Hunter and Sport’s Horse sections. These include the Cuddy finalists Langaller Rolex and Langaller Leading Light and multi Champions Challacombe, Libris Top Spin and Langaller Roll Over. Roly made his BE debut a winning one at Larkhill in the BE90 and went on to win and be regularly placed at BE100 and Novice before reaching Intermediate status. 

Roly spends the winter months working daily with the hunters and has enjoyed his hunting taking on the hedges of the Taunton Vale with relish and regularly crossing the Dartmoor terrain with it’s stone walls and deep river crossings. He is so easy and does everything that he is asked to that we sometimes forget he is a stallion at all even to the point of stepping up as a hunter hireling when needed. We feel privileged to have this lovely horse standing at Langaller Farm and are delighted to be able to offer him at public stud.
